About Salomé Grouard
Salomé is a journalist, writer, and media relations strategist based in Hong Kong.
Salomé’s work lives at the intersection of storytelling and social impact, and has been published in CNN, Vice News, South China Morning Post, Post Mag, Slate, Monocle, Design Anthology, Tatler Asia, Mixmag, Consequence of Sound, Time Out, and more. She provided on-the-ground coverage of pivotal events like Hong Kong’s Covid-19 pandemic, the Tai Po fire tragedy, and social movements shaping Asia. This includes documenting grassroots cultural movements, gender-based struggles, and the fight against systemic bias in the region. To do so, she has interviewed a broad range of industry leaders and trendsetters, from Dr. Jane Goodall to Japanese author Asako Yuzuki.
Over her years working in media, she has developed expertise in media relations and communication. Today, she helps companies, artists, and athletes rethink their media strategy—work that led her to become Communication Director of TEDxHong Kong 2026.
From February 2023 to May 2025, she served as Digital Editor and Front & Female Lead at Tatler Hong Kong, where she managed website editorial content while covering gender equality, women’s empowerment, pop culture, music, and health.
Previously at the South China Morning Post, from October 2020 to February 2023, she was Production Editor for Digital and Lead of the Lunar Project. Under her leadership, subscriptions tripled, and she expanded LGBTQIA+ coverage while regularly contributing articles and op-eds. Subsequently, the newsletter was awarded the Best Newsletter award in 2023 at WAN-IFRA’s Digital Media Awards Asia for its excellence in coverage and impact.
